Becoming a bard: Prisming is your starting point into bardic thinking
A Prism is an artistic response to a technical or political talk in the field of ecological sustainability. It is done from start to finish in no more than a working day, and aims to stir emotions and stimulate constructive dialogue as it is presented back to the speaker and wider audience.
A Bard in our use of the word is an artist of any artform that takes a deliberate step forward into the discussions and issues present in society, on a basis of values but with artistic freedom.
The platform
The Prisms are organised by a group called Bards for Climate and outcomes (called Prisms) will be shared via a website, instagram, facebook and other suitable channels as well as potentially online and physical exhibitions.
The responsibility
There is a great task for the ones making the prisms in that we can help others to make a message more emotive and more accessible. We hold peoples hearts in our hands and it is an honour to have this role.
The ownership
Each artist owns his or her own product. The Bards will only repost material in order for the ownership to solely be with the artist. When the original post is taken down the bards will not have a copy of the material made unless explicitly agreed with the artist.
The values
We aim to be helpful, honest, constructive and collaborative. The guiding principle is that the more love you have, the stronger and clearer you can speak.
